Privacy Policy (GDPR compliance)

Last updated: 12 October 2025

1) Who we are
“Go-Pods” is the trading name for the Go-Pods Micro Tourer Caravans product.

The website www.go-pods.co.uk and associated social media channels are operated by Go Promotions Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”). We hold an exclusive licence from Fling Promotions Ltd to use and sub-license the “Go-Pods” trademark for sales and marketing purposes.

  • Data controller for this website & marketing: Go Promotions Ltd

  • Distributor & retail partner for new-unit sales: Red Lion Caravan Centre (“RLCC”). For new Go-Pod purchases where your sales contract is with RLCC, they act as an independent data controller for their retail activities (see “How we work with our partners”).

  • Trademark owner: Fling Promotions Ltd (IP owner; not normally involved in your personal data unless stated in this policy).

Contact (privacy): [[email protected]], [Address], [Company number].

2) What this policy covers

This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, the lawful bases we rely on, who we share data with, retention periods, international transfers, your rights, and how to contact us or the ICO.

3) How we work with our partners (controller roles)

  • Website, enquiries, and marketing (newsletters, show offers, pre-owned alerts, owner viewings): Go Promotions Ltd is the data controller.

  • New Go-Pod purchases and handovers: If your sales contract is with Red Lion Caravan Centre, RLCC is an independent controller for processing needed to complete your purchase (order processing, handover, registrations such as CRiS, servicing). We share only what’s necessary to progress your order.

  • Pre-owned sales: If a pre-owned unit is sold directly by RLCC and your contract is with RLCC, they act as an independent controller for that sale.

  • Fling Promotions Ltd (IP owner): Fling Promotions Ltd licenses the “Go-Pods” trademark to us. They are not routinely involved in processing customer personal data. If that ever changes (e.g., joint campaigns or events), we will identify Fling Promotions Ltd’s role for that activity and update this policy.

Where we and RLCC jointly determine purposes/means for a specific initiative (e.g., a co-hosted event marketing list), we will say so at the point of collection and explain how to exercise your rights with each party.

4) Personal data we collect

We only collect what we need for the purposes below.

  • Marketing & newsletter data: name, email, subscription preferences, tags/segments, open/click activity (Mailchimp).

  • Owner Viewings Programme: owner name, contact details, approximate location/region, viewing history, reward points, consent preferences; limited information may be published (e.g., approximate area, first name/owner ID) only with your explicit consent.

  • Support & complaints: correspondence and case notes.

Some providers (e.g., Mailchimp/Intuit, Google) may process data outside the UK/EEA. Where this occurs, we rely on approved safeguards such as the UK Addendum/IDTA, EU Standard Contractual Clauses, and provider security certifications. Copies of relevant safeguards can be requested (redactions may apply).

We keep data only as long as necessary for the purpose, then delete or anonymise it.

  • Enquiries (no purchase): up to 24 months after last meaningful interaction.

  • Marketing subscribers: until you unsubscribe; basic suppression record kept to honour opt-out.

  • Orders & finance records: typically 6–7 years (legal/tax).

  • Owner Viewings Programme: for the life of the account; published items removed promptly if you withdraw consent.

  • Support/complaints: up to 6 years after resolution (limitation periods).

11) Security

We use technical and organisational measures to protect data, including access controls, encryption in transit, least-privilege access for staff, and vendor due diligence. No method is 100% secure; we monitor and improve our controls.

12) Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access your data and request a copy

  • Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data

  • Erase data (where applicable)
